Our Story

Welcome to French Creek Village

1975

Travis Hetherington and Earl Hardy submit the restrictive deeds and covenants to the State of Texas, founding French Creek Village as a subdivision.

1975–Present

Originally designed to appeal to military families with VA financing — fitting for a neighborhood in "Military City, USA."

Today

Approximately 317 homes now stand of the 375 originally planned, all still governed by the same voluntary, resident-run association.

2026

FCVNA continues on entirely volunteer labor — funding pool and court maintenance, landscaping, and neighborhood celebrations through member dues alone.

While most neighborhoods in Texas are mandatory HOAs run by corporate management companies, French Creek Village is not. The French Creek Village Neighborhood Association (FCVNA) — formerly referred to as an HOA — is completely voluntary to join, and membership isn't limited to residents of our neighborhood alone.

FCVNA is run entirely by volunteers who live right here in the neighborhood. The funds collected from annual, one-time membership dues go toward community landscaping, pool and tennis court maintenance, our community buildings, annual neighborhood celebrations, and more.

Your support is what keeps both the physical facilities and the neighborhood traditions alive — traditions that have made French Creek Village unique and special for over 50 years.

Recreational Facilities

The pool, the courts, and the rules that keep them great

Available to Class B, E, and F members. In order to access FCV's recreation facilities, you must first be a member of the Neighborhood Association — and you don't have to live in FCV to join.

Swimming Pool

Open for recreational members from May 1 through October 31, 8am to sunset. Closed Mondays for cleaning and maintenance. Available for private parties and periodic summer movie nights.

French Creek Village tennis and pickleball courts

Tennis & Pickleball Courts

Open year-round for recreational members. Members may share the courts with a non-resident guest whenever weather permits. Proper tennis shoes and equipment required.

Pool & Facility Rules — the essentials

Keep the gate closed and locked at all times — never propped open.

Children under 14 and non-swimmers must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

No glass containers, gum, tobacco, food, or drinks inside the pool gates.

No rough housing, running, or large groups without a reserved party.

Pool activities pause immediately at the sound of thunder, resuming 30 minutes after the last clap.

Non-potty-trained children must wear swim diapers and are limited to the kiddie pool.

A dedicated lane stays clear for lap swimming at all times.

Members may bring guests; non-resident guests must be accompanied by a member.

Adults 21+ may bring non-glass alcoholic beverages — no obscene language or conduct.

Become a Member

Join French Creek Village NA for 2026

To keep up with rising costs, the board voted to increase membership dues for 2026. Choose the class that fits your household below.

Credit card convenience fees are $3 for Class A and $11 for Class B, E & F. These fees are charged by our online payment processor and passed straight through to the Association — the board does not profit from them. Paying by cash or check carries no fee at all.

Covers lawn care of common areas, FCV sign upkeep, Memorial & Labor Day picnics, and neighborhood insurance.

What's the difference between memberships?

Class A & Class B are for French Creek Village homeowners. Class F is for residents of neighboring Oaks of French Creek. Class E is for anyone outside both of those neighborhoods. Only Class B, E, and F include pool and court access — Class A supports the neighborhood without recreational facility use.

Can I pay online or with a check?

Yes — you can pay online anytime using the Buy buttons above, in person by card swipe by arrangement with Buddy Howard, or by check mailed to French Creek Village Home Owners Association, P.O. Box 380031, San Antonio, TX 78268. We also host membership drives at the start of each year and pool season, with volunteers posted at the neighborhood entrance or the pool.

Are dues pro-rated if I just moved here?

New Class B homeowners in French Creek Village who moved in after June 1 of the current calendar year receive a pro-rated fee based on the remaining months in the year. Email the board to arrange special online payment, a card swipe, or a check.
